If you have type 2 diabetes and would like to get a very competitive life insurance quote, we can help you.

In order to get you a competitive life insurance quote, we will need some information regarding your type 2 diabetes. First and foremost, we need to know your most recent HbA1c level. This is the main thing that life insurance companies look at. The HbA1c level measures your average blood sugar levels over the last 6 to 12 weeks. For someone with diabetes the goal is to be under 7%. In addition, the life insurance companies will want to know the following:

Age of diabetes onset

Height and weight

Medications and dosages

Complications from diabetes

Are you a smoker?

Any other medical conditions?

For a competitive life insurance quote, call us today at 1-888-950-TERM and we will take this information and shop it to all the life insurance companies we work with to get you the lowest price possible on your life insurance.

Age is one of the elements that impacts the cost of life insurance. Everything else being equal, the older you are, the more expensive the policy will be. Consequently, the longer you wait to get life insurance the more expensive it will be. Even if you have waited this long to get life insurance, the good news is that it is still possible to get life insurance protection. First, you always can decide on a fully underwritten policy, which in many cases will be the least costly, and submit yourself to a medical exam. With the results of a medical exam the insurance company will have a better understanding of your health situation and thus be able to offer you the best possible premium based on your medical exam results. Or, for whatever reason, you may opt for a no-medical exam policy. What is important to know is that, depending on your health situation, you could still get life insurance even if you are 70, or even above 70 years of age. One possible answer is SIMPLIFIED ISSUE LIFE INSURANCE, which are whole life policies that do not require a medical exam but for the applicant to simply answer a few health questions. Your answers to these health questions will determine whether or not you qualify for a SIMPLIFIED ISSUE LIFE INSURANCE policy. After the death of a loved one, many families are faced with unexpected expenses, including medical bills, funeral expenses, legal fees and unpaid bills. There are a handful, or so, of life insurance companies that offer SIMPLIFIED ISSUE LIFE INSURANCE, which provide the funds to help the family with these expenses, if there are not enough resource in your estate.

If you qualify, you can have immediate protection or graded protection. On a typical policy, and as long as the required premium is paid on a timely basis, the insurance company cannot cancel the policy, cannot reduce your benefits and cannot increase your premium, regardless of the level of benefit approved. Immediate protection means exactly what it says, namely, the entire benefit is paid on day one if the insured dies. But, what if you do not qualify for immediate protection? For most individuals who do not qualify for immediate coverage, there is an alternative. You may qualify for a policy that provides GRADED BENEFITS. Under GRADED BENEFIT the policy will pay a fraction of the death benefit if the insured dies within the first year from the policy issue date (for instance, return of premium plus 5%); a greater fraction of the death benefit is paid if the insured dies on the second year of the policy(for instance, the greater of return of premium plus 10%, or 50% of the face amount); and, then, on year 3 and thereafter, 100% of the death benefit is paid. There are other variations of this formula, but not too different.

How do you know if you qualify for LEVEL (immediate) BENEFIT, or for GRADED BENEFIT? A typical SIMPLIFIED ISSUE LIFE INSURANCE policy contains a one-page (usually) questionnaire with health-related questions. It has either two parts of three parts. If you answer “NO” to any of the questions on the first part you will not qualify for any benefits under the policy. As an example of what the questions in part one are:

Do you use a wheelchair, other than for a temporary impairment expected to last less than 2 months?

Do you receive assistance with daily activities such as taking medications, bathing, dressing, eating or toileting? Home health care or hospice care?

In the past 5 years – have you been diagnosed with, or received treatment for an organ or tissue transplant, Alzhemire’s disease, dementia, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Have you tested positive to HIV, or been diagnosed with having ARC or AIDS caused by the HIV infection, or other sickness or disease derived from such infection?

In the last 12 months – have you used oxygen to assist with breathing? Received kidney dialysis?

If you answered “NO” to all of the above (typical) questions (they vary from insurance company to insurance company), then you will move to Part 2 and sometimes Part 3, which will determine if you are eligible for LEVEL BENEFIT or GRADED BENEFIT.

At present, SIMPLIFIED ISSUE LIFE INSURANCE (sometimes referred to as “final expense insurance“) is issued up to age 85 and in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $75,000.

We hope that this post has been helpful to you. If you have any questions, would like a life insurance quote, or would like to initiate the process of filing a life insurance application with one of the insurance companies that offer SIMPLIFIED ISSUE LIFE INSURANCE, please, e-mail us at info@insuranceglobe.net , or call us at either of these numbers:

If you travel to any of the countries on the U.S. Department of State current travel warning list there is a good chance you will be declined for life insurance. However, certain states do not allow insurance companies to rate or decline their residents soley for foreign travel. For example, we just worked on a case for a Georgia resident who is going to Iran for 2 months. Ordinarily, he would have been declined, but we were able to write him at super preferred, because he is a resident of Georgia. Other states that have restrictions are California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusets, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington (state). Not every life insurance company interprets these laws the same, so you need to know which insurance company to go with. For example, one insurance company we spoke with wanted to add $7.50 per every $1,000 of death benefit. In this case, the client wanted $200,000 of coverage, so he would have had to pay an additional $1,500 per year. This is an area that many agents do not come across frequently and therefore do not have the experience to handle such a case properly. If you are planning on traveling to a high risk country and you need life insurance, please call InsuranceGlobe.net at 1-888-950-TERM.

Life Insurance Delined?

We work with a lot of clients that have either been declined for life insurance through another agency or have been rated for life insurance. Most of the time we are able to get clients who have been declined for life insurance approved or if they have been rated we are able to get them a better rating and save them money.

Most of our clients that have been declined for life insurance have been declined because of a health condition that they were not aware of or because the life insurance agent that they were working with did not know how to handle the medical condition for which the client was rated or declined because of.

Many times clients think they are healthy and find out when they get their exam results back that they have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, elevated liver enzymes, diabetes, etc. This is a big reason that many clients get declined for life insurance.

Another major factor which causes clients to get declined for life insurance is what the insurance companies find in the doctor’s notes. People don’t realize that whatever they tell their doctor’s ends up in the medical records. If you complain to your doctor that you are having stomach cramps and your doctor recommends that you get a colonoscopy and you don’t do it, the insurance company will decline you until you get the test done and they see the results.

One other thing we run into a lot is clients who think that because something happened over 10 years ago that they don’t have to tell the insurance company. A lot of the applications ask “have you ever been diagnosed or treated for”. It is true that if it happened over 10 years ago it might not affect your rating, but the insurance company still wants to know about it.

Agents can also play a big factor on whether or not you get declined or rated for life insurance. A lot of agents are either captive (can only sell one company) or have a favorite company that they do most of their business with. If you are working with such an agent, you are almost assured that you will not get the best deal possible. If your agent’s business card has one insurance company’s name on it, then he/or she might have an incentive to submit most of their business with that company. Sometimes it has to do with a pension that is dependent on production requirements, they could be receiving leads from a company in exchange for doing all of their business with that company or it could be that they simply have to do a certain amount of business to keep their job. This isn’t always the case, but just be aware and ask your agent to show you the companies that he has shopped your case with and ask your agent to explain why one company is best for you over another company.

Choosing your agent is even more important if you have health issues. It doesn’t take a lot of experience to shop a case that involves a 100% healthy client with no underwriting issues. Anyone can do that. However, if you have a health issue like diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc., your agent should know what questions to ask you in order to obtain the right information to shop your case. Your agent should shop your case and show you the different medical offers that he has received from different insurance companies. Remember, the better information you give your agent, the more accurate quotes you will get and you will be better able to make a decision as to what company to apply with. This will give you a far better chance of avoiding getting declined for life insurance.

So, if your life insurance was declined or rated, give us a call at 1-888-950-8376 and speak to one of our licensed insurance agents and we will do our best to get you the best deal possible.

Life Insurance Quotes and High Blood Pressure

Insurance companies take many factors into consideration when calculating your life insurance quotes. Blood pressure is just one of the determining factors that go into calculatio life insurance quotes for high blood pressure.

If you have high blood pressure that is treated and controlled with medication, you can still qualify for the best health class with some insurers. When we run your life insurance quotes we will enter your average blood pressure reading and the number of years you have been taking blood medication into our software and it will give us life insurance quotes in order from lowest to highest premium. We can help you determine which company will be most favorable for you based on how long you have been taking medication and how well controlled your blood pressure is. If you don’t smoke, aren’t overweight and have normal cholesterol levels and no other risk factors besides having controlled high blood pressure, you should still be able to qualify for a great rate. If your blood pressure is not controlled, your life insurance quotes will start to go up and you could even be declined.

Life insurance quotes for for people who have high blood pressure will vary depending on your age and gender. Life insurance companies have guidelines for blood pressure which are different based on your age and gender. If you have been prescribed medication to treat your high blood pressure and you are not taking it, you can expect to see higher life insurance quotes.

According to the Centers for Disease and Prevention about one-third of people with high blood pressure or high cholesterol don’t even know thay have it. Often times people come to find out about their high blood pressure when they are examined for life insurance. After getting past the initial shock they have to decide whether to accept the policy or not. Usually, they are applying for preferred rates and end up being approved for standard rates. If you accept a standard rating policy, you can petition the insurance company after one year to lower your premiums if your blood pressure is under control.

How do you go about find the best life insurance company for high cholesterol? When it comes to cholesterol, there are two things life insurance companies look at. Most life insurance companies will focus on your total cholesterol and your cholesterol/hdl ratio. There a a few companies that have very relaxed guidelines for total cholesterol or don’t even look at it at all, but instead only look at your cholesterol/hdl ratio. With so many companies out there, how does one know which company will be the best life insurance company for high cholesterol?

InsuranceGlobe.net has software that we use to enter your cholesterol and cholesterol/hdl ratio. The software then determines how each company will rate you and what the correspoding premium would be based on your criteria.

Here’s an example. A 37 yr old male has a total cholesterol level of 300 and a cholesterol/hdl ratio of 5.0, so which is the best life insurance company for his high cholesterol? Let’s see. The best preferred plus non-smoker rate is with Banner Life Insurance Company at $495 per year, but he would not qualify for that rate with Banner. If he would have applied with Banner he would have qualified for the standard non-tobacco rate and his premium would have been $1,235 per year. If he would have called us at InsuranceGlobe.net we would have recommended Pruco Life Insurance Company and the premium would have been only $715 per year. Pruco only looks at cholesterol/hdl ratios and not total cholesterol, so if everything else was ok he would have qualified for preferred plus with Pruco.

Life Insurance Quotes for recovering alcoholics

Alcohol consumption is widespread among Americans. And for most, drinking alcoholic beverages poses almost no threat to well being or life expectancy. For those who abuse alcohol, it can have a significant effect on longevity. If you have a history of excessive alcohol consumption, you most likely have to pay an increased premium on your life insurance policy or could possibly be declined depending on the severity of alcohol abuse. When shopping life insurance quotes for recovering alcoholics it is important that the history of alcohol abuse be factored into the life insurance quotes. Ultimately, the life insurance underwriter is going to review medical records (paying close attention to records in relation to treatment for substance abuse and psychiatric illness), lab results, social profile, motor vehicle reports (and DUI or DWI), and physical findings to determine the risk in connection with recovering alcoholics.

Some of the complications of alcohol excess which are significant to life insurance quotes are:

Cardiac: Hypertension, cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation

Nervous system: Brain damage, tremors, psychosis, blackouts, delirium tremens (DTs), seizures, peripheral neuropathy, balance and gait impairments

Bone marrow: Abnormal blood counts including anemia

Gastrointestinal: Fatty liver, hepatitis, pancreatitis, cirrhosis, varices, diarrhea, cancer, gastrointestinal bleeding (sometimes massive) due to gastritis

Psychiatric and social: Suicide, violent behavior, depression, anxiety, marital/occupational/familial problems, abuse of other drugs as well as alcohol

Miscellaneous: Aspiration pneumonia, accidents and trauma

Alcoholism is a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations. The disease can be progressive and fatal. It is characterized by impaired control over drinking, preoccupation with the drug alcohol, use of alcohol despite adverse consequences, and distortions in thinking, most notably denial. Each of these symptoms may be continuous or periodic.

Binge drinking is highly risky for accidental mortality. It is defined as heavy drinking to the point of intoxication on a periodic basis.

Risky drinking (per the NIAA – National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism) is:

For men, > 14 drinks per week or > 4 per occasion

For women, > 7 drinks per week or > 3 per occasion

Note: One drink = 12 g of pure alcohol = 12 oz of beer = 5 oz of wine = 1.5 oz (a jigger) of hard liquor.

In addition to the risks that are associated with alcoholism, the underwriter also will look at favorable historical details like: participation in Alcoholics Anonymous, voluntary initiation of treatment, single period of treatment or hospitalization, maintenance of a stable family life, steady employment, financial solvency, and overall good health without reports of violence or arrests. If the individual is able to successfully stop drinking alcohol without relapse, after seven to ten years, the mortality rate approaches that of the general population.

I often get customers looking for life insurance for elderly over 80. Usually, I get life insurance quote requests from the son or daughter of a senior or elderly parent over the age of 80. As you might imagine, life insurance for elderly seniors over the age of 80 can be very expensive. However, most often I find that the reason they are looking is because they have no life insurance and they just want something to cover their final expenses including their burial and any remaining debt. Typically, those who are looking for life insurance for elderly are satisfied with smaller life insurance policies in the range of 5k – 50k.

Most people buy life insurance during their working years, because it is so affordable. When you are in your 30′s, you are too busy trying to save for your retirement, save for your children’s college education or simply trying to make ends meet. So you buy a 10, 20 or 30yr level term insurance policy to protect your family from the loss of your income should something unexpected happen to you. You might even figure that 30 years from now you will be self insured or your kids will be all grown up and you won’t need insurance any more. Or maybe you figure, one day I’ll buy a permanent policy, but I can’t afford it right now. Well, one day turns into 50 years later and now you are over the age of 80 with no life insurance and perhaps very little savings and you just want to be able to cover any costs associated with your death and maybe even leave a little something to your grand kids.

Often times, people think that life insurance companies will not issue life insurance for elderly over 80, but their are many carriers that do and many that don’t. This is a specialized area of life insurance and if you are not dealing with an agent who works with life insurance for people over 80 on a regular basis, then you are not going to get the best deal possible and you might not even get any life insurance at all. I have helped elderly who have been declined by other companies and I have been able to get them a policy quickly and in some cases without an exam. Yes, believe or not, you can even get no exam life insurance for seniors or elderly over 80. Even if you are sick or ill, there are final expense life insurance policies that can provide you with the protection that you are searching for.
