Term Life Insurance For Seniors
When looking for term life insurance for seniors, one needs to be aware that, depending on the age of the person, longer policy maturities (for instance 30 years) may not be available. A person who is 70 years old, male or female, most likely is not going to be able to obtain a 30-year term policy. When the 30 years of the policy is added to the 70 years of age the result is 100 years, which most likely exceeds the life expectancy of that person. If the 70 years old person, in our example, wants to get an extended maturity policy, he/she can go for a permanent life policy, such as GUARANTEED UNIVERSAL LIFE (less costly than Whole Life), or WHOLE LIFE. FINAL EXPENSE and NO-MEDICAL EXAM policies, although typically more expensive, could be an option too.
Then, as with all life insurance policies, a non-smoking senior stands a much better chance of getting a policy, and at a better premium rate, than a smoker. And, the healthier the person is, the better the chances of getting a policy and at a better price.
